Character design process
The aim with this project was to explore the character design & production process. I work on the project when I have time and it is still a work in progress. Inspired by anatomical drawings I did some fast pencil sketches. Using these sketches as reference I did some concept polygon modelling in Maya. I also wanted to brush up on my NURBS modelling so I imported the mesh to Alias where I did a lot of the modelling. The next step was to rig the character in Maya. A few months later I wanted to try out the HIK system in Maya so I used the motion capture data that ships with maya to drive a HIK rig which in turns drives my custom rig. The next steps on the project will be texturing and rendering. I will post more when I have time to work on it.
Dancing the whole way home
An animation test using V-Ray, Maya and After effects. The Mocap data used in this projects is the one that ships with maya. It is really neat to have that, so easily accessible, when trying out a rig or an animation concept.
